This guide provides detailed instructions for Scouts on how to nominate valuable contributions to the XRPL ecosystem through the Glow platform.

As a Scout, you play a vital role in the Glow program by identifying and nominating impactful contributions to the XRPL ecosystem. Your nominations help direct funding to developers, encouraging ongoing development and innovation.

Getting Started

Accessing Your Account

  1. Log In: Access the Glow platform at glow.xrpl-commons.org using your credentials.

  2. Scout Dashboard: After logging in, you'll be directed to your Scout dashboard.

Understanding Your Role

As a Scout, you can:

  • Create and manage nominations

  • Add new projects and contributors to the system

  • Monitor the status of your nominations

  • View voting and assessment results

The Nomination Process

Step 1: Finding or Creating a Project

Before submitting a nomination, identify the project:

  1. Navigate to the "Nominations" section and click "Add Nomination."

  2. Search for the project by name.

  3. If the project exists, select it from the search results.

  4. If the project doesn't exist, click "New Project" and provide:

    • Project name (required)

    • Project description (required)

    • GitHub repository URL (required)

    • X/Twitter handle (optional)

    • Website URL (optional)

Step 2: Adding a Contributor

If the contributor is not already in the system, add them by providing:

  • First name (required)

  • Last name (required)

  • Email address (required)

  • GitHub username (required)

  • X/Twitter handle (optional)

  • XRPL wallet address (optional)

Step 3: Submitting a Nomination

  1. Select the project and contributor.

  2. Provide a detailed description of the contribution and its impact.

  3. Confirm eligibility (age, location, employment, etc.).

  4. Submit the nomination for review.

Monitoring Nominations

  • Track the status of your nominations from your dashboard.

  • View community voting and judge assessments as they become available.
